Kemendikdasmen Strengthens Collaboration with Media to Support Education Equity

Tangerang Selatan, March 2, 2026 — The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) emphasized the importance of synergy with mass media to ensure that education programs and policies are communicated comprehensively, accurately, and in ways that are easily understood by the public. This collaboration is part of strengthening the role of the Catur Pusat Pendidikan in supporting equitable access and improving the quality of national education.

Through its Bureau of Communication and Public Relations (BKHM), Kemendikdasmen held a Policy Dialogue with the Media in South Tangerang on Monday (March 2). The event served as a platform for information exchange and reinforced strategic partnerships between the government and media.

Secretary General of Kemendikdasmen Suharti expressed appreciation to the Education Journalists Forum (Fortadik) for consistently supporting the ministry in disseminating education-related information and policies.

“Thanks to the role of the media, Kemendikdasmen can understand what is happening in the field and what needs to be followed up,” Suharti said.

Key Strategic Policies

During the dialogue, Suharti outlined several strategic policies currently being implemented:

• Program Indonesia Pintar (PIP): Strengthening access to education for underprivileged families. Since its launch in 2015, PIP coverage has grown significantly, reaching 17.9 million recipients and expanding from 1 million to 1.8 million schools. Starting in 2026, PIP will also cover Early Childhood Education (PAUD) as part of the 13-Year Compulsory Education policy, ensuring children from low-income families can attend PAUD for at least one year before entering primary school.

• Afirmasi Pendidikan Menengah (ADEM): Scholarships for students from disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost regions (3T), Indigenous Papuans (OAP), and children of Indonesian migrant workers. The program aims to provide access to quality secondary education and encourage recipients to contribute to their home regions.

• Beasiswa Talenta Indonesia: Scholarships for outstanding students to continue higher education domestically or abroad. This program ensures that achievements extend beyond competitions, fostering the development of top talents who can contribute meaningfully to the nation.

Strengthening Public Communication

Kemendikdasmen reaffirmed its commitment to building open, transparent, and collaborative public communication, ensuring that every education policy reaches and benefits all Indonesian children.

This dialogue highlights the ministry’s effort to integrate media as a strategic partner in advancing education equity and excellence nationwide.
