JAKARTA – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), through the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, has officially announced the list of lecturers and researchers who have successfully passed the selection for the BIMA (Research and Community Service Information Base) funding program for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
This year, more than 15,000 proposals from universities across Indonesia underwent a rigorous selection process involving a double-blind review system and AI-based verification to ensure originality and research impact.
In a shift from previous years, the composition of 2026 funding recipients shows a significant increase in the Applied Research and Industrial Collaboration Research categories.
The following is a summary of the distribution of funding recipients based on the main schemes:
- Program Basic Research (PD), 6,200 proposals main output Q1/Q2 International Journals
- Program Applied Research (PT), 4,800 proposals main output Industrial Prototypes & Patents
- Program Community Service (PM), 3,500 proposals main output Rural & MSME Digitalization
- Program Postgraduate Research, 1,500 proposals main output Accelerated PhD Graduation
"2026 is a momentum of transition. We are seeing a positive trend where our researchers are starting to focus on outputs that can be directly downstreamed (commercialized). Of the total recipients, approximately 40% are focused on developing food security technology and green energy," stated the Director of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM).
For lecturers whose names are listed in the announcement attachment, there are several urgent steps to be taken:
Research Contracts: Digital contract signing will be conducted via the BIMA system from June 15 – 25, 2026.
Budget Revision: Researchers are required to adjust their Budget Plan (RAB) in accordance with the approved funding nominal (maximum ceiling).
Disbursement of Funds: The first phase of fund distribution (70%) is scheduled to reach institution/university accounts starting the first week of July 2026.
Kemendiktisaintek also provided a special note for applicants who were not successful this year, encouraging them to utilize the "Reviewer Feedback" feature available in their respective BIMA accounts as evaluation material for future submissions.
